Tantalum capacitor is an electrolytic capacitor with metal tantalum as dielectric material, and uses tantalum oxide (tantalum pentoxide) as solid electrolyte, which has higher stability and longer service life, high capacitance value, low equivalent series resistance (ESR), high withstand voltage and good temperature characteristics. It is widely used in communication equipment, audio equipment, power supply and converters, industrial control and instrumentation, as energy storage, filtering, coupling/decoupling and power management.
